On 29-30 March 2023 the European Union Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region (EUSBSR) Policy Area Safe, together with Lithuanian Maritime Academy - LAJM, organized an idea generation workshop within Policy Area Safe actions. The objective was to identify project ideas that PA Safe could share across the Baltic Sea Region and help interested parties form project consortiums. Similar workshops will take place in each of the 8 EU member countries bordering the Baltic Sea.
The second day of workshop will be dedicated to ideas on supporting Ukrainian maritime students to complete their studies including maritime higher education institutions, other supporting European maritime bodies and institutions from Europe and Ukraine, Ukrainian students as well.
This year Klaipeda ID is taking a new step on improving services for Klaipeda's foreign residents. Opening in April is the one-stop-shop International House Klaipėda which provides an extensive range of integration services, information, and guidance focused on assisting international newcomers in settling in the Klaipėda area.
On 9 March, International House Klaipeda Project Manager Viktorija Giedraitienė will be visiting LMA!
During the meeting, speaker will reveal the importance of intercultural communication, introduce useful tools for successful intercultural communication and share ideas on how to develop intercultural skills.
Yesterday our Erasmus students visited Klaipeda Old town and learned about all the stunning places.
The studies at the LMA under the Erasmus+ exchange program in Spring 2023 started with 24 students from Ukraine, Romania, Spain, Turkey and Latvia.
On the Friday afternoon 10th of February 2023 the Diplomas were awarded to 73 international students of LMA and 4th year students who came from the Kherson State Maritime Academy (KSMA) of Ukraine. Students from seagoing study programs Marine Navigation and Marine Engineering successfully defended their final theses and passed the qualification exams. Graduates were awarded by LMA professional bachelor's Diplomas during a cheerful and solemn celebration!
On 2nd of February 2023 LMA invited representatives of the Maldives Ports Authority on board LMA educational ship. The purpose of the familiarization visit to Lithuania is to get acquainted with the educational institutions, companies, associations of the Lithuanian maritime transport sector and to learn about good practices. We look forward to further cooperation in opening opportunities for potential students from the Republic of Maldives.
Acting in the field of created cluster for Transport and Logistics studies Lithuanian Maritime Academy LMA and Vilnius Gediminas Technical University VILNIUS TECH opened new specialization of the Transport Engineering Master's study program "Maritime Transport Engineering and Logistics" for graduates of all higher education engineering and study technology fields for shipmasters, marine engineers and marine electrical engineers.
LMA and VILNIUS TECH hope that studies of Transport Engineering, Engineering Economics and Logistics related to maritime transport, increased internationality of studies, will be attractive to students both from Lithuania and from foreign countries, which is important, especially for the work of the maritime transport sector in the Klaipėda region for the market, which currently has perhaps the highest demand for highly qualified transport engineering specialists!
In commemoration of 13th January, today, the Day of the Defenders of Freedom (Lithuanian: Laisvės Gynėjų Diena)
On Friday afternoon 9th of December 2022 the diplomas were awarded to 4th year students who came from the Kherson State Maritime Academy (KSMA) of Ukraine at the Lithuanian Maritime Academy. Students successfully defended their final theses and passed the qualifying exams. This diploma awarding ceremony was special because - the diplomas were awarded to the graduates of the KSMA of Ukraine, 44 graduates from seagoing study programs, who due to the current situation, have completed their studies at the LMA. Graduates were awarded by professional bachelor's diplomas during a cheerful and solemn celebration!
