Lithuanian Maritime Academy has held the Erasmus+ International Week in Klaipeda, Lithuania 14-18 of May, 2018. The week was  arranged in cooperation with LMA partners for deeper interdisciplinary insights, fruitful networking and new acquaintances for all participants. 

The overall theme for the week was the Baltic sea marine region. During the week, LMA organised a conference with the theme „The Baltic Sea: Gateway or cul de sac?“ which held on 16-18 May, 2018. The conference explored the situation of the maritime transportation in the Baltic Sea as well as its future possibilities, challenges and issues. So the main covered topics – but not the only one were: shipping and ports in the BSR, maritime networks, International trade and logistics, alternative roads (northern route, Eurasian land bridges), geopolitical issues, environmental perspectives, etc.
