The Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LMA) recently hosted two significant visits from distinguished guests of the Latvian Maritime Academy of Riga Technical University. These exchanges, aimed at bolstering training and fostering collaboration, took place on 6-7th June and 13-14th June, highlighting the importance of cross-border partnerships in advancing maritime education in the framework of the Erasmus+ for training.
During the first visit, LMA welcomed Arnis Ezergailis, an Equipment Operation Engineer, and Sandra Breiha, the Head of Administrative Functions & Personnel. Their two-day stay was filled with insightful discussions and hands-on sessions.
The second visit saw a larger delegation comprising five esteemed professionals. Renate Kalnina a renowned teacher specializing in Maritime Transport Impact on the Maritime Environment. Aelita Arnicane, a Quality Management Systems Specialist conducted comprehensive workshops on enhancing quality management protocols within educational frameworks, ensuring that LMA continues to meet the highest standards in maritime education. Aleksandrs Gasparjans a Professor and expert in Electrical Engineering delivered in-depth practical sessions on cutting-edge electrical engineering technologies, enriching the technical curriculum at Latvian Maritime Academy of Riga Technical University and LMA as well.
Gundis Lauža an Assoc. Professor, also specializing in Electrical Engineering, collaborated with LMA to integrate new teaching methodologies and advanced engineering concepts into the existing programs, fostering a more robust engineering education.
Valdis Priednieks a Professor in the Technology of Materials introduced innovative materials technologies and their applications in the maritime industry, providing LMA staff members with the knowledge to utilize these materials effectively in their future careers.
These visits are a testament to LMA’s commitment to international collaboration and continuous improvement in maritime education.
