In April-May 2024, the Lithuanian Maritime Academy proudly participated in the Erasmus+ program, fostering international cooperation and academic exchange. Our academic staff embarked on enriching mobility experiences across Europe, sharing expertise, and advancing knowledge in various fields of maritime studies.
Associate Professor Dr. Eduardas Spiriajevas embarked on a scholarly journey to the University of Granada in Spain. His expertise in Tourism Geography, Tourism Planning, and Alternative Tourism provided invaluable insights to both students and faculty members at our partner institution. Dr. E. Spiriajevas’ contributions not only expanded academic horizons but also strengthened the bonds between our institutions, paving the way for future collaborations in the dynamic field of tourism studies.
Lecturers Renata Jackuvienė and Jelena Krochina embarked on an educational voyage to Rigas Technical University’s Liepaja Marine College in Latvia, further enhancing our academic network in the Baltic region. Lecturer R. Jackuvienė shared her expertise in the Calculation of reactions in loaded bars and verification of strength conditions, enlightening students with fundamental principles in structural engineering. Meanwhile, Lecturer J. Krochina delved into the intricate dynamics of modern seaport operations, shedding light on the influence of the external environment on maritime infrastructure. Their collaborative efforts fostered a fruitful exchange of knowledge, enriching both institutions and nurturing a culture of academic excellence.
Lecturer Alvydas Nikolajus ventured to Tallinn University of Technology, Estonian Maritime Academy, strengthening ties between our maritime institutions in the Baltic Sea region. With a focus on Ship’s equipment and Ship’s engine room equipment, Lecturer A. Nikolajus shared valuable insights into the intricacies of maritime technology and engineering. His engagement with students and faculty members further solidified the partnership between our institutions, laying the groundwork for future academic endeavors and cross-cultural exchange.
Associate Professor Dr. Simona Briedienė and Lecturer Ingrida Skiparienė embarked on a collaborative journey to the Nikola Vaptsarov Naval Academy in Bulgaria, contributing to the advancement of maritime education and training. Dr. S. Briedienė’s expertise in Crew and Human Resources Management, coupled with Lecturer Skiparienė’s proficiency in Quality Management System, enriched the academic discourse and practical training at our partner institution. Their collaborative efforts exemplified the spirit of international cooperation and knowledge sharing, fostering a deeper understanding of maritime operations and management practices.
