On 6th September 2024, the Lithuanian Maritime Academy (LMA) took a major step forward by embarking on a new era of collaboration with OSM Crew Management Limited (OSM Thome) from Cyprus through the signing of a cooperation agreement. OSM Thome, a leading company in Ship Technical Management, Crew Management, and related marine services, currently employs around 31000 people both at sea and onshore, operates over 30 offices across various continents, and manages approximately 1000 vessels.
LMA Director Vaclav Stankevič warmly welcomed esteemed guests, including LMA graduates Aleksandr Bažin, OSM Thome Team Leader – Offshore Crew Management, and Romas Karmazinas, a Council Member of the Lithuanian Captains Association, who played key role in facilitating this partnership.
The signing ceremony, held at the LMA, symbolized a shared commitment to advancing maritime studies, science, and business. Following the ceremony, a fruitful discussion took place, exploring potential future cooperation opportunities and reinforcing the dedication to mutual growth and success. This partnership between OSM Thome and LMA marks the beginning of a new chapter in collaboration, paving the way for a brighter future in maritime education and industry.
